After visiting the great Deadmau5 concert of his Europe Tour in Berlin 7 weeks ago, I’m involved into a traditional cultural event on the technical side on the next weekend.

We are running the plattform for the online streaming of Lohengrin live from the Bayreuth Festival Theatre on Sunday, 14th August 2011. Usually we are coming together around noon and having a BBQ while keeping all the stuff up and running.

To get back into this millenium, we (yes, my girl and me) are at the Highfield festival the weekend afterwards. I guess you can find me at the “white stage” or at camp site. Keep on rocking!

Alone at home

Sometime it happens, that there are school holidays. As my lovely girl used to be a teacher, she has some time off at that period. So she left me with our kids yesterday to visit the grandparents.
It was two hours after leaving, when I was really surprized that I was sitting around and thinking about what to do next, as normaly the weekend are family time.
So I decided to take my bike and a paper map to get of for a trip. Since some years, I usually use my bike to escort the girls or when going to work, which is just a 5 minutes ride, so I thought that would be a great opportunitiy.
I took a backpack with raining clothes, mounted the bike helmet on it, in case I needed to go cross country, some water and my music player.
It was a great ride, beside that I realized I’m not in the same condition as some years ago. Unfortunately this will likely not change in the next 12 mounth, as we have some projects in the queue we need to deal with. Hopefully we will solve that satisfactorily and have a bit more spare time afterwards.

Anyways .. 27,65km in 1h40 is not so bad, as it was hot and humid.

I’m really shocked, that such a nice and young man was pulled out of life out of the blue. Thanks for all the great things you have done for my family and me. Nothing more I can say at the moment other than ‘I hope we will see us again anytime wherever’.

Actual I’m involved into a project which maybe of interest for you if you like opera particular when you are a Richard Wagner enthusiast.
Since long time, the waiting period for obtaining tickets increases a lot. At the moment I think you have to wait around 8 years, which is a worse.
Time changes also at Bayreuth Festival, they seems to refocus their audience. Looks like the aspects of huge waiting list and new medias influenced that process.

This year the opera “Die Meistersinger” is broadcasted online under the slogan “live dabei” (live there) via the great thing called “Internet” and to a public viewing area in Bayreuth, which is a premiere in both cases. So if you don’t have a ticket for the Festspielhaus and not in a position to make use of the public viewing but interested to have a look at the opera, you may want to check if your system matches the technical requirements and give it a try.

Like (almost) every year I visited obligatory the event. Since my family^Wreallife is normaly preventing me from such a party, this one left cause it’s in my old homeland and there are good friends forcing me to join them (my wife can’t deny a please of her brother :).
After it was sabotaged last year, this year the location wasn’t anymore in the KSA Tautenhain but in the “Volkspalast” Leipzig. I never visited this location before, but in contrast to the KSA it is a regular (commercial) location. So I was quite interested how such a great event could be integrated into a more or less mainstream location.
We reached 23 o’clock and it was really empty … there was a big floor where usually the weekly party is on stage. The music was less commercial then expected, later I found out on a lineup, that this was called Housefloor , I guess this floor was dedicated to the crowd visting the location regularly. So we discovered 3 more areas and I was keeping in the Mainfloor, which was a room much smaller and did look like a old fabric room (with additional deco). Around 1 o’clock there was many people in that room … a short round through the other areas did take me back to the Mainfloor. The deco there was great like every year and inside this room the usual feeling of the event could be recognised. Outside that room, is looked like every discotheque and the people seems also not like on the last events. To make long things short … Inside the Mainfloor sound, ambiente and crowd was great, but I didn’t care about the rest. And yes … the music was LOUD, but that’s okay for me on such a party.

Today it happen, what I know it would happen some day. My grandfather is not in this world anymore.
I don’t know, if there is anything other, where he could be now and unfortunatly it seems we aren’t experience it until we are in the same situation.
It’s hard for me to write whats going on in my head… If it was okay for my grandfather to leave us, it’s also for me, but I will miss him. It makes me distraught that I’m so far away since 5 years now and wasn’t able to visit my family more often.
