Like every time … it’s the best distribution our project released so far. Many thanks to all those people who did make that happen. Since my family^Wreallife is normaly preventing me from such a party, this one left cause it’s in my old homeland and there are good friends forcing me to join them (my wife can’t deny a please of her brother :).
After it was sabotaged last year, this year the location wasn’t anymore in the KSA Tautenhain but in the “Volkspalast” Leipzig. I never visited this location before, but in contrast to the KSA it is a regular (commercial) location. So I was quite interested how such a great event could be integrated into a more or less mainstream location.
We reached 23 o’clock and it was really empty … there was a big floor where usually the weekly party is on stage. The music was less commercial then expected, later I found out on a lineup, that this was called Housefloor, I guess this floor was dedicated to the crowd visting the location regularly. So we discovered 3 more areas and I was keeping in the Mainfloor, which was a room much smaller and did look like a old fabric room (with additional deco). Around 1 o’clock there was many people in that room … a short round through the other areas did take me back to the Mainfloor. The deco there was great like every year and inside this room the usual feeling of the event could be recognised. Outside that room, is looked like every discotheque and the people seems also not like on the last events. To make long things short … Inside the Mainfloor sound, ambiente and crowd was great, but I didn’t care about the rest. And yes … the music was LOUD, but that’s okay for me on such a party.

This time the location was at an old recyle sorting facility anywhere between Leipzig and Chemnitz. This year the parking chaos wasnt such big like the last, but it was definetly also one. The good think was, the access road was this year one way.

The party itself was bigger and there were 3 floors, a main, a techno and a discohouse floor. There were more entrances and a better air flow. In summary .. the organisation was improved.

The most of the time I was hanging in the discohouse area with some short visits in the main floor. The music was realy nice … but with every party trip I think, there are coming more and more brained people into this scene. Another explanation maybe … I´m getting older and seeing something from another point of view like some years ago, where I didnt mention such situations.

Anyways … The LiquidSunday 2006 was a nice event and I think I will return next year, if possible.

This weekend the brother of my wife did visit us and asked whats going on in the evening. I’m not following any nightlife magazine, so I did search half an hour for anything interesting. I was realy surprised, that there was a club only 5 minutes away on foot. No sucking search for a parkplace or going by public transportations.

We did reach the club short before 24 o’clock, this saves 20 percent of entrance. Like expected it was almost empty. It tooks 30 minutes and we was asked, if we have drugs to deal. Hmm … are we looking like drug dealer? This was realy shocking us! We also noticed some people, which seems druged^Wdrunken^Wremote-controlled. The drinks seems also a bit overpriced in my eyes .. but maybe the reason is, that I was only 5 times clubbing in the last 4 years and the things are changing. :-)

Lets come to the good news … The quality of sound setup was realy neat. It was well amplify which prevents sudden deafness, but the bassline was luscious.
The age average was only 3-4 years below my age, which was wondering me a bit, cause I’m reaching the 30th in short.
The music style this evening I would call ‘progressive hardhouse’, but this maybe not the general style, cause this event seems to be speacial one, called Club Nasty.
In front of the club is a doner kebab booth where you can get some Turkish food and some other snacks when your batteries are low. Thats great!
In summation, I think I will come back, when my timeline give me a slot and a good event will take place.

Yesterday I finished the RIPE LIR Cource second time.

They told us, that database objects are filtered since some weeks and with the -B you can get it unfiltered. This fact I was searching 2 weeks ago for some hours. I didnt recognise the announcement on db-wg mailinglist.
My opinion is, that this is a useless feature. It does confuse the NOC people and spammer do know to bypass this anyways.

Also you cant use webupdate if your maintainer only has a pgp-key. Thats realy bad … so you need X509, if you have to use webupdate and wonna use secure authentification.
To remove pgp-objects, you have to contact hostmaster@ripe.net.
Other news … its allowed to make subassignments on IPv4 and new thing … lir-partitioned.

The benefit of the course … I’m fit into other great stuff, which may come up in the future … :-)
